plantar artery which had been severed, and was in a very weakened condition, though quite cheerful when spoken to encouragingly. In addition to rupture of the plantar artery, part of the lower portion of the articular area of the oscalsis had been shot away, together with the internal lateral ligament. The lost part, however, was not of such a nature as to cause any dislocation or disfigurement of the foot.
